The Judicial Philosophy of Amy Coney Barrett

On September 26, President Donald Trump nominated Judge Amy Coney Barrett of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit to replace Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.  As the American people get to know more about Judge Barrett, please join us for a panel discussion from three people who know her well.

• Attorney John Adams is a stakeholder with EimerStahl LLP's Chicago office, and who clerked for Judge Barrett from 2017-18.  Mr. Adams focuses his practice on appellate and complex litigation in a variety of areas, including antitrust, constitutional law, corporate law, federal jurisdiction, securities, and white collar.  He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Dayton, and his M.B.A. and law degree from Northwestern.  He previously served as an infantry officer in the United States Marine Corps.
• Attorney Robert S. Driscoll is a shareholder with the Milwaukee office of Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren s.c.  Mr. Driscoll practices in the field of labor and employment law, where his practice covers a wide variety of litigation-related issues facing employers including claims of unlawful discrimination and/or retaliation, disputes over noncompete agreements and other restrictive covenants, wage and hour claims (both individual and class actions), and he also represents clients in appeals.  He previously clerked for Judge Diane Sykes of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.  He holds an undergraduate degree from Hillsdale College, a Master of Politics from the University of Dallas, and a law degree from the University of Notre Dame Law School, where he was a student of then-Professor Barrett.
• Amanda Rauh-Bieri is an associate in Miller Canfield's Litigation and Dispute Resolution Group. She is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Michigan Law School, where she was associate editor of the Michigan Law Review and co-president of the Women Law Students Association. Amanda previously worked as a law clerk for both the Honorable John M. Walker Jr. of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in New Haven, Connecticut; and the Honorable Amy Coney Barrett of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit in South Bend, Indiana.
